I have always lived a musical life! I was raised in a family that enjoyed sharing music at all opportunities. From a very early age I played piano, followed closely by studying guitar and vocals. A graduate of the University of Waikato, I hold a Bachelor of Education (music). 

 

My experiences in music are many and varied! Over the years I have taken part in choirs, rock bands, traditional Irish music groups, musical theatre, orchestras, singing as a soloist and in small groups for functions, and sharing my enthusiasm for music with everyone I meet.

 

As a classroom teacher, music was always a key feature of my programme, both in New Zealand and overseas. I have offered guitar, keyboard and vocal tuition to children part time for the past ten years, and am pleased to be able to do this on a larger scale since starting Serendipity Studio this year!

 

In addition to private instruction, I tutor guitar in several schools in the Gisborne region, and have done so in other regions of New Zealand in the past. My guitar programme is unique and specifically tailored to each child,  inviting them to freely explore new musical ideas in a supportive and caring setting.

 

I am pleased to be able to bring Kindermusik to the younger children of Gisborne, offering high quality musical experiences for children to enjoy with their families, whilst providing a solid foundation for all areas of their physical, social, emotional, cognitive and musical development.

 

I truly believe that Kindermusik is the single best choice you can make for your young child, and I am proud to be one of the first to introduce this exciting programme to children in New Zealand.

 

My goal is to illuminate the lives of children and their families through music - it has had such a positive impact on my life, and I would love for others to share in this great experience.
